Barney Lake Beaver Fencing Installation

Oct 2016 1

10:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Barney Lake Conservation Area

Please join Skagit Land Trust at our largest Conservation Area, Barney Lake to help restore this jewel on the edge of Mount Vernon. This highly diverse wetland, river and lake complex provides critical resting grounds for wintering waterfowl, and fish habitat throughout the year. During this stewardship event we will be placing beaver fencing to protect last springs planted trees.

Directions: From Mount Vernon take College Way (Highway 538) east to Martin Road, turn left. Turn right on to McLaughlin Road and then left on McLaughlin Extension Road. The road then winds uphill through working farm buildings. Parking is limited, please carpool if possible. Parking is located approximately here. Follow the Land Trust signs when you are close.

**Contact our volunteer coordinator to RSVP at hannahw@skagitlandtrust.org or (360)428-7878 and include your carpool request by Friday, September 30 2016**

To bring: Rain boots are a good idea! Weather and work appropriate clothing, lunch, and a water bottle. Do not bring anything you do not want to get mud on! We will provide gloves and refreshments.

Groups are welcome. Hope to see you there!
