Molly Doran

Executive Director

Molly's (she/her/hers) career spans land conservation and outdoor education. Before joining Skagit Land Trust in 2002, Molly spent over 20 years managing schools and teaching wilderness education in North and South America and Africa for the National Outdoor Leadership School. She holds a B.E.S. in environmental studies and a master's degree in managing and consulting from the Leadership Institute of Seattle at Bastyr University. Molly served on the national Land Trust Accreditation Commission from 2009-2020.

Michael Kirshenbaum

Michael Kirshenbaum

Conservation Director

Michael (he/him/his) is responsible for overseeing acquisitions for Skagit Land Trust's conservation areas and easements. He previously worked at North Cascades National Park and in the non-profit advocacy sector in Washington, D.C. Michael has a M.S. in Geography - Natural Resource Policy from Western Washington University. Michael serves on the board of directors of the Skagit Watershed Council. He has been with the Trust since 2007.

Laura Hartner

Laura Hartner

Development & Outreach Director

Laura (she/her/hers) oversees fundraising, communications, and community engagement for Skagit Land Trust. Prior to joining the world of land conservation, Laura served as the Events & Communications Director at the Anacortes Chamber of Commerce where she planned serval annual largescale festivals. Her work with Skagit Land Trust combines her love of the outdoors with her experience in community outreach, event planning, journalism, and non-profit fundraising. Laura's previous work includes King 5 News and Northwest Public Radio.

Max Morange

Max Morange

Stewardship Director

Max Morange is the Land Trust's Stewardship Director. Prior to work at SLT, Max managed emerging projects in the hunger relief sector as well as agricultural projects in Whatcom and Skagit Counties. In his free time, Max tackles invasive weeds at home and dreams of adventures in the Cascade Mountains and the Puget Sound.

Jaz Strode-Elfant

Jaz Strode-Elfant

Membership & Office Administrator

Jaz (they/them/theirs) was most recently the Administrative Director for Resolutions Northwest in Portland, OR and brings to the Trust great technical skills and familiarity with donor databases and non-profit financial operations. A graduate of Western Washington University, where they studied Sociology and Art, Jaz is excited to return to an area where they can easily get to nature and hiking trails.

Kari Odden

Kari Odden

Conservation Project Manager

Kari (she/her/hers) works with conservation land transactions, planning, and government grants. She has served on the Skagit County Marine Resources Committee since 2006. Previous work includes teaching, community outreach, and project coordination in the U.S. and overseas. Kari has an M.S. in Environmental Science from Western Washington University.

Jessica Lange

Jessica Lange

Conservation Project Manager

Jessica (she/her/hers) has an extensive background in stewardship from her time at Sound Salmon Solutions, a regional fisheries enhancement group south of Skagit County. Her understanding of local conservation issues and experience in applying for and managing grants will be beneficial to the Trust’s work of acquiring and conserving land. Jessica graduated from Hawaii Pacific University, where she received a degree in Environmental Studies and Natural Resource Management. In her free time, she enjoys exploring the greater Pacific Northwest and adventuring with her dog, Charlie.

Stacy Dahl

Stacy Dahl

Volunteer & Education Programs Coordinator

Stacy (she/her/hers) engages the public with Skagit Land Trust through education and volunteer opportunities, with a focus on Trust protected lands. She oversees the Trust's Community Science and Engaging Youth in Conservation programs and is the first point of contact for volunteers and interns at the Trust. Stacy moved to Bellingham from the Mojave Desert, where she spent six years as an environmental educator on the public lands surrounding Las Vegas. She has a Master’s in Biology from Miami University of Ohio. A life-long learner, she enjoys spending time outdoors exploring the different ecosystems of the Pacific Northwest.

Jonathan Worley

Jonathan Worley

Stewardship Coordinator

Jonathan (he/him/his) manages stewardship activities across the Trust’s Conservation Areas. Jonathan joined the Trust as a full-time staff member after serving AmeriCorps terms with the Trust and Washington Conservation Corps. Jonathan holds degrees in Human Biology and Sustainability Science and Practice from Stanford University, where he was a member of the men’s baseball team. In his free time, he enjoys backpacking, trail running, crossword puzzles, and weekly trivia nights with friends.

Debbie (she/her/hers) works with staff and volunteers on various Trust events. She has worked as an Interior Designer for over 20 years and is the Owner-Innkeeper of a local Vacation Cottage. Debbie studied Interior Design at Bellevue College.

Sydney Benson

Sydney Benson

2023/2024 AmeriCorps Community Engagement Member

Sydney (She/her/hers) serves the Skagit Land Trust through organizing work parties and volunteer events intended to engage the public in conservation. She also develops youth programming and lessons that get kids out in the field connecting to the land. Sydney moved from Minnesota where she received a Bachelors of Science in Environmental Science- Geoscience from Winona State University. After graduating Sydney spent spent time working in invasive species management for Winona County. Sydney loves all activities that involve being outside, a few of her favorites include rock climbing, paddling, backpacking, fly fishing, and her new favorite- mountain biking.
