1st Saturday Stewardship!

Jan 2017 7

10:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Minkler Lake

Start the New Year with Stewardship! Join us every First Saturday and Third Friday of the month for some Stewardship fun and help protect and conserve Skagit County's precious lands for future generations.

Details: This Conservation Area is home to many species of waterfowl, songbirds and an important water feature supporting salmon and steelhead. This is a great site to see many stages of restoration all in one day.

We will be planting trees in the upper portion of the property and continuing to work on a patch of Ivy.

This work requires kneeling, pulling, bending and potentially navigating steep slopes. There are many tasks available and we can meet your comfort level.

Directions: From I-5, travel east on Highway 20 until it intersects with Minkler Road to the south, just after mile post 71. Parking is limited and on the shoulder. Please RSVP.

To Bring: Water bottle and weather appropriate clothing and shoes. Skagit Land Trust will provide light snacks, water, gloves, and tools.  Bring a kneeling pad if you like to use one.

RSVP by Thursday, January 5th at volunteer@skagitlandtrust.org or call 360.428.7878.

Carpooling is highly recommended parking is along the shoulder of Minkler Road- if you are interested in a ride or can drive others mention this in your RSVP.
