Discover the natural history of South Fidalgo Island on this beautiful forested trail that connects Deception Pass State Park to the Anacortes Community Forest Lands. This trail provides an important connection for both local hikers and long-distance travelers on the Pacific Northwest Trail. The Tursi Trail was built in winter and spring of 2016 with the help of many volunteers and traverses past meadows and rocky balds, a red rock quarry, a miner's shack, the "rock" of artist Morris Graves' lore, and view of Pass Lake, Campbell Lake and Mount Erie.
The trail traverses both Deception Pass State Park land and across private lands via a trail easement held by Skagit County Parks and Recreation. Skagit Land Trust secured the trail easements for the County and designed interpretive guides .
