5:00 pm – 6:30 pm
Wednesday, July 22nd, Skagit Land Trust is hosting a guided community walk to celebrate the newly expanded and reopened Yudwasta Big Rock Park in Mount Vernon.
Known to the Upper Skagit People as Yudwasta, meaning “of the heart,” Big Rock has long been a place of deep cultural connection and natural beauty. The park sits at the center of a vital wildlife corridor along Nookachamps Creek, where black bears, coyotes, otters, and other wildlife move freely between habitats. The park was recently expanded and reopened thanks to years of dedicated work by Skagit Land Trust, Skagit County Parks, the Upper Skagit Indian Tribe, and private landowners.
Participants will learn about the park’s remarkable conservation success story and see for themselves why this landscape has mattered to generations of people and wildlife alike. Space is limited and registration is required. Please click the button above to sign up through Eventbrite!
