There are many ways to volunteer and help steward for Skagit County’s natural lands. Do you love being outside and getting your hands dirty? You could become a land steward or join a work party to help with planting trees, removing invasive species, or doing trail maintenance. Do you enjoy teaching, learning about, and advocating for the natural world? You could become a community scientist volunteer, educate youth, help with outreach at events, or serve on our committees or Board of Directors. Volunteer Positions
Volunteer Work Parties
We always need volunteers to assist with maintenance and restoration work on Skagit Land Trust properties and conservation easements. This is our largest group of volunteers, and they do critical land maintenance work like planting trees, mowing grass, installing culverts, clearing brush, repairing and removing fences, and locating property lines.

Land Stewards
Volunteer land stewards help to ensure preservation of a property’s ecological value. Effective stewardship requires a long-term commitment to the land, which can be achieved when an individual adopts a property and provides stewardship for successive years.
If this position is of interest to you or someone you know, please email Stacy at volunteer@skagitlandtrust.org.
