Please join Skagit Land Trust at our Minkler Lake Conservation Area as we build upon many years of restoration efforts at this wetland ecosystem. We will be removing noxious weeds such as ivy and blackberry to give native plants a well-needed boost.
What to Expect:
The worksite is in a forested area within 500 feet of the parking area. The worksite features uneven terrain. Blackberry removal involves using loppers to cut back canes and shovels to dig out root balls. Ivy removal involves bending, kneeling, and pulling vines by hand or with the assistance of small tools like gardening trowels. Volunteers should come prepared for a day of physical activity. The work site does not have established restrooms.
IMPORTANT: You will receive confirmation and more details two days prior to the event. Signups close at 5pm the day before the event.
