Please join Skagit Land Trust at our Utopia Conservation Area as we control blackberry around previous habitat restoration plantings and maintain walking trails to the Skagit River. This work builds on a long history of habitat restoration projects at Utopia.
What to Expect:
Work will occur in open and forested areas ranging from 0.25-0.75 miles from the parking area. The worksite will feature uneven terrain and tall grasses. Blackberry removal involves using loppers to cut back canes and shovels to dig out root balls. Trail maintenance involves using loppers and hand pruners to cut vegetation from the trail corridor. Volunteers should come prepared for a day of physical activity. The work site does not have established restrooms.
IMPORTANT: You will receive confirmation and more details two days prior to the event. Signups close at 5pm the day before the event.
