Skagit Land Trust Staff Attend Rally in Denver

Skagit Land Trust staff returned from Denver last week, where we joined land trust colleagues from across the country for the 2026 Land Trust Alliance Rally.

This large conference offered a rich variety of field trips and educational sessions on topics such as wildlife corridors, communication strategies, youth programming, community forests, river conservation, indigenous partnerships, mapping, conservation easement monitoring, disaster preparedness, tax law, artificial intelligence, and foraging!

Our staff made the most of our visit to the mile high city by adding a few wonderful (and sometimes weird) extracurricular excursions. These adventures included the immersive sci-fi art experience Meow Wolf, exploration of the eccentric restaurant and activity center Casa Bonita, and a Mariners vs. Rockies game at Coors Field.

At our staff meeting this week, staff shared how we felt professionally enriched and inspired by colleagues from all across the nation — as well as more bonded as a team here at SLT. Many thanks to LTA and everyone who contributed to our rewarding trip to Denver!
