Community Hikes at Yudwasta Big Rock Park
Despite light rain in the forecast, over 30 community members — many of whom had never been up to Big Rock — joined Skagit Land Trust staff on Thursday, September 24th, for three guided community hikes at Yudwast Big Rock Park.
Skagit Land Trust and partners helped to Skagit County to expand, protect, and reopen to public access to this County Park earlier this year. Participants enjoyed learning about the community partnership and collaboration that led to the park’s expansion and reopening (to learn more, check out our Winter 2026 Newsletter).
Folks were also impressed with the view from the top — and with the several impressive sets of stairs that Washington Trails Association has built into the rock. If you haven’t paid Big Rock a visit yet, fall is a beautiful time to get up there! Read more about the trail on WTA’s website.
