Site History and Ecology
Samish River Wetlands Conservation Area protects about 23 acres of riverine wetland habitat on 1,750 feet of the Upper Samish River. This property contains critical habitat for the state designated endangered Oregon spotted frog and supports a variety of salmonid species including steelhead, coho, and cutthroat trout. The three remaining acres consists of a forest that provides habitat for woodland creatures.

How to Get There
From Sedro-Woolley, drive north on WA-9 N. After about 6.5 miles, turn right onto Hathaway Road. After about 0.3 miles, turn left onto Cruse Road. Note that Cruse Road transitions to a private gravel road after about 100 yards. Continue along Cruse Road for about 1.5 miles. Parking for 3-4 vehicles is available in a small pullout on the left side of Cruse Road.
